Nice selection of vegan "street food" in an urban-bucolic setting. Seating inside is limited but lots of grassy spots and benches in the adjacent park.
Read moreThe only drawbacks are lack of adequate space, descent toilet facilities or trash receptacles. Also it is pricy; 2 Afghan bowls, 1 order of Filipino spring rolls, and 7 mini donuts added up to nearly $60...well beyond the budget of many.

New vegan market in Central Park running June-October 2023. About 15-20 vendors serving all vegan food. Some of the best we tried were Pinche Vegana, Healthy as a Motha, and Twisted Potato.

A pleasant surprise in Central Park - Edit
We were lucky enough to stumble upon this vegan market while we were in NYC. The fried chick'n (from https://blackeyedpeasnyc.com/) was the best ever with delicious jerk and bbq sauces. Also stellar was the ice cream sandwich from Sundae Fundae. The jerk tofu and butternut squash mac n cheese from Bevos Kitchen was good, but not amazing.

Stumbled upon this awesome vegan market and I just happen to be in Central Park on the Tuesday this event happens. Tried Southern vfood. Was not disappointed but also didn’t find it to be extra special. I’ll say the hibiscus water was off the charts. Thankful for the meal, tho!

Have yourself a treat in Central Park! - Edit
For a limited time (through October), there is a "Vegan Night" every Tuesday during the summer evenings in Central Park. There are a series of vegan vendors serving things like Caribbean food, Mexican food, Vietnamese food, baked goods, southern-style food, etc. It is all comfort food--you buy something, then grab a park bench or picnic on the lawn.
Read moreThere are so many yummy things to get here. Most of it is not that healthy or low-cal, to be sure. One tricky thing is that there are so many tempting vendors that you will be full before you know it, and before you know it you'll spend the type of money that you would have spent on a gourmet meal. But it is only until October, so you might as well check it out before it's gone! :-)
