Great food with a great mission

We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
We ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Returned the next day

It was just so good I had to go back another time! The food was extremely tasty and very reasonably priced. I would especially recomment the poutine.

It was also nice that there was a possibility to buy a meal for someone in need.

Great food, Amazing Mission

This restaurant has a full vegan menu with several traditional Czech dishes.
The restaurant has an amazing mission!
They employ people who experienced homelessness or have served a sentence.
You are also able to buy a pending lunch which will be later served to a person in need.

Rustic and delish!

The location looks like a Bavarian pub. Comfy but a little loud. We didn't mind.
The dishes were incredibly delicious! I enjoyed the Knödel and the Rotkohl and my friend had the Schnitzel. It was the best vegan Schnitzel I've ever eaten. Very thick and savory and crispy.

I would always come back for authentic bohemian food. Love!

Pros: Menu, Delicious food, Low prices

Must go if you’re Vegan in Prague

Just a short walk out of the old town in Prague, I went to Strecha with my two non-vegan friends. Did not disappoint at all and was a reasonable price for what we got.

We ordered the jackfruit loaded fries to share and I got the ribs with plum sauce. The portions were quite generous and the food was hearty and delicious.

Nick ordered the dark beer goulash and “was impressed by the dark and beer-y flavour palette” (he liked it).

They also had a nice selection of beers that the waiter explained to us and we ordered three different ones to try them all.

My non-vegan friends were also impressed with the establishment and I would definitely come again next time I’m in Prague.

Pros: Delicious, hearty food that fills you up, Reasonably priced

Cons: A bit outside the old town but worth the walk

Great food with a great heart

The food tasted great and was affordable. Střecha offers a great range of dishes from 'steak' to national specialties like halušky. Beyond the food, Střecha has a wonderful mission in offering jobs to those who have experienced homelessness or served time in prison. What's not to like?

Pros: Great mission, Lovely food, Nice staff

Love the idea + traditional food ❤️

Wow I’m so impressed by their idea to prepay lunch for someone else… And they’re hiring peoples “in need”. Wow!! All that plus delicious food and friendly staff 🙂 I asked for local food and I got the Gulás na cerném pivu | Dark beer goulash.
The Dumplings were a bit dry-ish but nice anyway.

Huge indoor sitting. Plenty of tables.

I paid lunch for someone else. Do it as well. It doesn’t hurt you I’m sure 😊

Thx and see u next time😄

Great veganized eastern european kitchen

Great food and a nice vegan approach to traditional eastern european kitchen. One of the best vegan Schnitzels I've ever had.
I also like their social concept, that you can pay extra to cover the costs of a menu for people in need.

Favorite Spot in Prague

My favorite Restaurant, we visited during our visit in Prague.
Good choices of traditional and comfort food and delicious homemade drinks.
We liked the lemonade and the Iced Kurkuma Latte.
My filled dumplings had an interesting taste, which was new for me and which I liked. The Schnitzel was very crispy and the Potatoe Salad tasty. We never had it in a combination with peas and carrot before.
All in all new flavours for us, very yummy.
Friendly staff, quick service - would come back for sure!

Pros: Authentic traditional food , Friendly staff, Social aspect

One of the best traditional vegan restaurants in Prague

At Strecha you can find many traditional Prague dishes. It's fully vegan! I fell in love with the Goulash, but the other dishes we had were also amazing, even the desserts. We paid 11€ each (0,5l beers, gulash, cake, another dish we shared), perfectly!

Pros: Fully vegan, Low cost , Near the centre

Great

Po rokoch nejedenia mäsa som si dal bramborové plnené knedlíky se zelím. Dá sa to aj bez mäsa. Výborné, chutné. Reštaurácia - taká klasická pražská hospoda. Veľká spokojnosť.

Great food

We had dinner here on Saturday night. The place itself gives some cottage vibes, not the prettiest but that’s not why you go there. We had the chilli burgers and they were gigantic, came with a ton of delicious fries. Prices are cheap and staff is friendly.

Pros: Huge portions, Cheap, Friendly staff

Cons: Tables were sticky lol

Good place to get some vegan Czech foods

I liked the ambience of the restaurant. Went there for a meal with multiple courses. Taste was good in general, but a bit too salty and the dumplings were too dry. But nonetheless a good place to get some veganized Czech foods.

Really Lovely place

The food was great and the waiters were super nice. We were lucky to have live music on the evening we were there and the black beer goulash is a must eat for everyone. The prices are great and also the cause they work for is very good!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!

What a brilliant mission, great food and atmosphere. Incredibly good value and tasty food. We spent £24 for 2 of us and had 2 drinks, 2 Garlic Soup, the kebab and snitzel.
The garlic soup was really tasty- would recommend. It's not too garlicky, with some great flavour and soft tasty potatoes.
I really enjoyed the snitzel, it was straight forward and just what I needed.
Partner had the kebab with chips, it's a HUGE portion! Very tasty aioli.

Pros: Lemonade was tasty, Food so good, Gender neutral toilets

Cons: Lemonade could have a reusable straw...

Nothing special

The good thing about Strecha is, that they serve vegan versions of Czech traditional dishes and also that they have daily offer (so it's not the same all the time).
I've had a burger, the filling was good, but the bun was super dry. I've also tried their cheese cake which literally tasted like white tofu 🥲 I also had mushrooms goulash with dumplings - goulash was ok, but dumplings very hard and dry. The best food I've had there was the kebab with fries.

Good food, good vibes!

Like the idea behind this restaurant, so tried it out on my last day in Prague. Wasn't disappointed. Good range of options on the menu, including Czech dishes that have been veganised. The staff were friendly and helpful and the space was bright and welcoming. They also do a set menu which is cheaper than "a la carte". Will definitely go back next time I'm in Prague!

Pros: Good range of food on menu, Great prices, The restaurant helps others

Cons: Wish it opened earlier!
