Best meal we've had in ages - Edit
We had the mushroom bruschetta with house made almond cheese. I will go back and have that as my meal! John, our waiter, was helpful and attentive. We also shared the vegan burger, and squash blossom pizza. The French fries were light and super crunchy.

Ran out of sourdough pizza crust - Edit
I’m an oil free vegan. Was disappointed they ran out of sourdough pizza crust which was oil free. only 2 oil free things on the menu I could eat were the gluten free pizza crust with a few fresh veggies on it, which tasted ok but the dough tasted like it was only half baked. the homemade lentil soup was very good and oil free. everything else on the menu contained oil and they weren’t willing to modify their preparation. my husband raved about the lamb ragout. my mother in law liked the veggie burger. service was excellent but the waiter didn’t seem interested in accommodating my oil free diet.

Creative and delicious - Edit
Went here for a family dinner, my parents who are older and eat mainly a carnivore diet did not really enjoy their meal but me (vegan) and my partner (pescatarian) enjoyed everything we ordered, the staff was very nice and accommodating of a vegan diet, they gave me a veganized version of the watermelon salad by substituting the feta for their house made almond cheese, we also had the "Kung Pao" Avocado. We tried their house cocktails which I think were wine based because they don't serve spirits but they were very good and my dad who is a Bud Light drinker enjoyed whatever microbrew beer was recommended to him by the bartender. I would possibly go back without the parents but it is quite a 'meaty' atmosphere. It is a popular venue so it was quite busy and loud inside.

Awesome vegan options - Edit
We’re surprised at how many vegan options since most places around here are seafood heavy. Amazing avocado kung pao and vegan risotto. They also had a vegan pizza option I’ll have to try another time. Good drinks and very friendly staff.

WOW! - Edit
Would give 5 stars if I could. I got the avocado kung poa which was very good. NonV bf got braised lamb stroganoff and said it was the best thing he’s ever eaten. For apps we got bruschetta with the homemade almond cheese and fried squash blossoms. The almond cheese was hands down the best vegan cheese I have ever tried. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about vegan/vegetarian options. They even offered to make something special when I inquired. Such a great place!

The vegan option were clearly labeled as such and the food felt fancy. I had their vegan pizza with homemade almond cheese, which was a great change of pace from the vegan burger you get at most restaurant.

Great food and service consistantly - Edit
Many of my friends who are NOT vegan ponder where to take us and and this place is usually a win hands down for everyone. The food and fare is fresh and local and they are very savvy on what is vegan and what is not. The food is great and the service has been consistently friendly. Went to visit again yesterday and they provided excellent service and vegan food to match! They have a new Plant Based section on the menu.

Good Variety! - Edit
All vegan options are clearly labeled under the “plant-based” section. Other items on the menu are marked with a “V” if they can be modified into a vegan dish. Desserts typically include vegan chia seed pudding and seasonal sorbet(s).

Many options! - Edit
This place had many vegetarian options that could be made vegan. The server was very knowledgeable and knew what was and wasn't vegan. I almost got pasta but he let me know I'd have to eat their gluten free pasta since their house made pasta had egg. I got the kung pao avocado instead and it was AMAZING.

The ambiance was nice. The menu had several vegan options (V) (pizza/flatbreads, salads and bean burger) Pizza must be ordered with no cheese, there is no vegan alternative. But veggie pizza was still very tasty.

delicious! - Edit
A visit to SW Florida has always been a culinary challenge for us with very few vegan options and we loved our dining experience at The Local. We started with the lettuce cups which were so amazing with an absolutely delectable marinate for the eggplant/mushroom filling. I had the farm plate that consists of four sides of choice, all of which were delicious with interesting flavors, and my husband loved the kung pao avocado. We will be back!

Nice menu with several vegan options - Edit
I ate here once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were nice and there were different vegan options on the dinner menu from the lunch menu. I had the Korean tacos at lunch and a veggie burger at dinner. I thought both choices were good and would eat here again and try more of the vegan choices. The prices didn't seem too high. The service was excellent. You'll want to make a reservation especially for dinner.

Wonderful - Edit
Great meal! Korean tacos, red lentil soup and black bean burger all delicious. Love the hummus and veggies at the beginning in place of bread so good. I would have really liked to try the pasta but the homemade pasta is not vegan sadly, they do offer gluten free pasta but I'm not a fan of that. I bet it would be delicious homemade. Great service too. We will be back

clearly labeled vegan - Edit
clearly labeled vegan options on the menu. Dinner is limited to two entrees, several salads, and three Flatbread pizzas. The Kung Pao avocado is Panko breaded and fried avocado slices. Service was friendly and a good place to mix vegan and nonvegan eaters. Easy parking in the lot of the strip mall. expensive.

Good but limited vegan options - Edit
My husband and I wanted a substantial vegan entrée for lunch (i.e. not a hummus wrap or salad) and there were two options on the menu: Korean mushroom tacos and a black bean/quinoa burger. The Korean mushroom tacos were incredibly flavorful and delicious! The tacos were full of marinated oyster mushrooms and some pickled veggies. The burger had a nice crunchy texture, but it was less flavorful. The burger, however, was still a good option. Both were served with a small lettuce salad. No vegan dessert today but reportedly they do have vegan options on occasion. Menu has lots of fish and meat but it is not visible while being prepared. Good food. Bit pricy. Love that much of the produce is local and organic. Wish there were more vegan options.

A vegan option daily - Edit
Great for vegetarians and they are very thoughtful of vegans. Everyday there is at least one vegan dinner entree. Many other options for lunch including salads and wraps. I love Fridays at The Local. They offer wine from a different region weekly. For $10 you get 3 different wines, 2 ounces each with a small bite paired to the wine. They will make the bites vegan. I had garlic corn with carrot chips, curried calabasas squash and watermelon gazpacho for my small bites. Very creative. They also leave a bean puree with veggies at the table for you and bread upon request so as not waste food. Local beers and a nice wine selection.

Eat, Drink, Be Local! - Edit
The Local, Naples, Fl, is Naples' first farm-to-table, sea-to-table restaurant specializing in locally sourced ingredients moderately priced. The restaurant was founded by Owner-Chef Jeff Mitchell, a classically trained chef and wine expert with 20 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry. Florida’s abundant seafood and long growing season inspires a menu that changes daily according to the day’s delivery. The freshest local produce in Naples and Southwest Florida appeals to pescatores as well as to healthy diners including vegans and vegetarians. They also have the healthiest options for those who are not plant-based or vegetarian. The chef of the day will modify any meal to meet your needs and the wait staff is always ready to greet you with a smile. A complete collection of superb, value wines makes the wine list one of Naples' best. The ambiance is casual, convivial and rustic, with blackboard specials, a cozy wine bar, and a half dozen or so locally brewed draft beers. My favorite dishes are: the spicy curry soup when available; Kale Caesar salad without cheese, dressing on the side; the Vegetarian pizza without cheese; and of course their local farm plate lights up this Nutritarian's palate. As a self-proclaimed beer snob, I relish the revolving local draft beers available to complement my meal. It is easily my favorite restaurant in town not only because of the superb quality of food and service, but especially because I can take a carnivore to dinner without that awkward pause of them staring perplexed at an all Vegan menu foreign to them. The Local currently has 58 reviews on Yelp with an average of just over four stars, where five stars is considered the best of the best. Try it today, you will not be disappointed.
Read morePs. Happy Cow will only let me rate The Local a four out of five because it does serve meat, but it is a five in my book.
Pros: Farm to plate, Revolving local draft beers, Chef is very accommodating
