The food here is fantastic. I got a plate of vegan soul food I will never forget. The woman who served us was also very kind and super helpful giving us some ideas on things to do. If you’re in Nashville this place is a must.

Husband and I were disappointed that we really wanted breakfast but they only serve it on Saturdays. However, we ordered lunch and it was delicious. I had hot wings, Mac and cheese, potatoes, and greens. I even tried the tater tots. The food was seasoned well and the service was excellent!

It was very busy which is usually a good sign. Unfortunately, of all the vegan and veg-option restaurants I have eaten at, this was the worst. I gave three stars because maybe it was an off day. The seitan BBQ in the soulchik was much too hard. I could tell the tater tot appetizer was supposed to have a Monterey jack type flavor, but it was very weak. The salsa tasted like it came from a can. The greens were great! The sweet potatoes were good, but nothing special. Can't say I will give another chance for the price. With all the options around here, I had high expectations.

I had the most fabulous vegan soul food here and this is compared to Souley Vegan in Oakland, CA & Chef Babette’s Stuff I Eat in Inglewood (Los Angeles), CA. So excited to be HERE from my home in San Francisco. I ordered the ginger beer to drink and fried chicken plate (half spicy/half reg) with collards, homemade ranch, mac ‘n cheese, potatoes and biscuit for lunch. Amazing! So happy the food wasn’t greasy! Warm vanilla cake drizzled w/chocolate sauce for dessert. Yummy!!! I’ll be back more than once while here for the CMA Music Festival! Thx for a wonderful meal! Come! You will not be disappointed. Bettina, the owner, was so helpful!

I'm in town for CMA Fest. I have only been vegan for a little over 2 months now. I am a very picky eater. Before going vegan I ate mostly fast food or comfort food and not a lot of vegetables at all. So becoming vegan has definitely presented its challenges. A friend of mine told me to check this place out. I was a little skeptical when I saw the place, but the food here was exactly what I was looking for. It's not fancy or full of "super foods". The plates are not Instagram worthy, but look more like something you would make at home. I was excited to see lasagna on the menu. There was even extra sauce on it without me requesting it. The strawberry cheese cake was warm and moist. I loved it. The menu was basically vegan versions of all the foods I ate before going vegan. Definitely will go back again!

I wanted to give more stars. After reading everybody I had high expectations. The food I saw was far away from what I read. I guessed we are spoiled because we are used to organic fresh food everyday and this is not the case. The food is basic, tasted like gmo warmed up and nothing exceptional in what we tried. Lasagna had what looks like canned tomato on the top. Frozen bread on the side, OK mac and cheese. The burger was 6/10.

This was a fun stop during our Nashville visit! We wanted to experience some Southern food, and the hot chik'n plate fulfilled that wish. The plate was a generous size and had a great variety of Southern staples. My non-vegan dining partner raved about the mac 'n cheese!

We came for brunch on a Saturday morning and were wowed by the food at this cute, homey spot. We started with the tater tots, which had a really tasty salsa and mixed well with a Chile queso sauce. The avocado breakfast tacos were super satisfying. Their vegan take on hot chicken was a hit, and the home fries are a real standout, too. Highly recommended.

There is outdoor and indoor seating. Great music. The staff was nice and attentive and the food was excellent. I ordered the hot plate with buffalo chicken, Mac and cheese, potato wedges, and collard greens. My wife got the "not" bacon cheeseburger. We both loved our meals. Would definitely come back and would recommend.

I had the SoulChik Plate Hot, which had a spicy “chicken”, herby roasted potatoes, mac and cheeze, greens, and a roll. All was delicious. Definitely big portions, I took the leftovers home. My partner got the Soul Food plate which had BBQ chicken instead and sweet yams instead of potatoes... also super good, but I prefer the less sweet, more savory SoulChik Plate Hot. Highly recommend!

I have eaten here several times and the food is always amazing. In fact, so good that I travel an hour from home just to dine. The owner is such a lovely person; kind, welcoming, and always prepared to answer any questions about her menu. As far as food... omg, it is sooooo yum. I have had the Lasagna, Reuben Sandwich, Chik'n Po Boy, SoulChik plate, Not Bacon Cheeseburger. The sides I have tried are the greens, mac and cheese, home fries, and the salad. My favorite is the SoulChik plate, served with greens, mac and cheese, home fries, and a roll. Oh, and a side of house made ranch! Definitely try this. The Reuben is a close second... the marbled rye used for the sandwich is probably the tastiest bread I have ever had, which is... a lot. They make their seitan in house, and it shows. Very tender seitan. The Chik'n Po Boy is delicious, I suggest subbing the home fries instead of the chips (there may be an upcharge, but it is worth it). The Lasagna is fantastic, my only problem is that it is wayyy better than my homemade lasagna (my feelings were hurt). And last but certainly not least, the Not Bacon Cheeseburger: Yum! Especially if you like an actual veggie burger, and none of these science experiment-meat-replacement burgers that seem so popular. It's moist and savory and she uses coconut bacon for the Not Bacon part of its name. Again, always sub for the home fries, because they are FIRE. Oh yeah, the salad is fresh and crisp and I believe it is a mix of spring greens and spinach, lil tomatoes, green olives, cucumbers, topped with coconut bacon and served with their house dressing. The dressing is too good. Kinda like a honey mustard, but with agave in place of honey. Order a Sorrel or Ginger Beer (non alcoholic). The Sorrel is my new favorite drink. Eat here! I have been to every vegan spot within a 250 mile radius and none of them beat Vege-licious😄
