Incredible food that happens to be vegan - Edit
Driving back home from Florida to Illinois, we were grateful to find this amazing vegan restaurant not far off our route. While there are only few tables inside for seating, there are several more picnic tables outside, which made it dog-friendly for our furry traveling companion. Some parking is available in back of the house/restaurant. The owner was so kind and friendly. You can taste in every bite how much she loves to cook...so awesome to see someone doing what they love while inspiring healthier food choices in the community with great tasting options! The place has a great vibe and everything we ordered tasted delicious. My teenage sons and I all loved the chocolate pancakes, grits, chiksoul plate and bbq chicken on a hoagie. If available, do NOT pass up the coconut cake served warm! Wish we would have ordered more to go. If we drive back through Nashville in the future, we will be sure to visit again. We were visiting from Phily and were so happy to find a new vegan spot doing so well! The owner is so warm and welcoming. She went through some of the items on the menu because there are so many choices we couldn't decide! We got the SoulChik plate and a bbq chicken po' boy. Everything on the soul plate was incredible- chicken was tender and crispy, mac&cheese was SO creamy and flavorful, and the greens and potatoes were cooked and seasoned beautifully! The po' boy was stuffed and messy and delicious! The homemade ginger beer was so refreshing and perfectly sweet. For dessert we got bread pudding with coconut ice cream, so good!!! This is a MUST if you are in the area!

This is literally an attachment to someone's house set in the middle of a residential area. You can sit inside if there's room (only 4 tables) I sat outside which is picnic tables in their backyard. I loved it. A great experience, lovely home cooked food by a very welcoming couple.

Visiting Nashville and found this little spot that is tucked away amongst no other business'. You may think you're in the wrong place but follow the flags into the alley. The owner was an absolute lovely woman and the food was great! Vegan soul food. Highly recommend!

The owners were so kind and attentive! The food was delicious, and we could tell that at lot of care and been put into making it. I ate the SoulChickn Hot Plate. My favorite parts were the home fries and collard greens. The house made ginger beer stole the show for me.

The place is very homey. It’s a very small dining area, but it’s like you’re at a family meal. The food comes on paper plates so it feels like a family get together. I had the Vegan Soul Plate, and my favorite part was the candied yams. The macaroni was very rich but enjoyable, and the chicken was good. It was pretty reasonably priced. The owners are a couple that have nailed vegan southern food.

This place is SO GOOD. However, I don’t dine in often anymore - there can be long waits. I call in or postemates a pick up order and allow for at least 45 minutes. It’s SO GOOD I don’t mind. I hope this place sticks around for a while 🤗

I arrived in the rain and from outside I wasn't even sure the cafe was open, I had to walk around the back to find the entrance but when I opened the door I was in this little room with a few tables in it and sweet soul music playing, lovely vibe. Great menu and really good food. I had the soul plate with yams, oh my, it was a big eat and the mac and cheese is the best I've tasted. I left with a Reuben Sandwich for later and that was amazing. Wish I'd found this place before my last day but will definitely be back there when I'm next in Nashville. What a little gem of a place! A little way out of the centre of town but walkable or just grab a cab and go. Thank you for the great food :)

Visited with my husband after finding it on Happy Cow and we were both blown away. Everything on the menu is vegan. I had a 'steak' wrap with Mac and cheese potatoes and it was all delicious! My husband had the hot soul plate, it had a mix of fried 'chicken' and a few other pieces. Again, all feel good food. They also have various cakes and cheesecakes. Carrot cake was to die for. Highly recommend and can't wait to return. Off the beaten track but worth the journey :)

It was our first time in Tennessee and this was the first restaurant I looked at on Happy Cow and immediately decided to go there. We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. The menu had tons of great options and the person working described things well. I ordered the soulchik plate, which was fried chickn, collard greens, mac and cheese, and home fries. Everything was mouth watering good. I couldn’t get enough. 10/10 would go again.

My partner and I were visiting from Australia in October 2018 and I randomly found this place on Happy Cow. We were a bit unsure of the setup when we first arrived and it was only recently opened but sitting outside was beautiful and the food was SO good. It was great to get a hearty and homey meal after travelling and eating out for every meal for weeks. I had the Reuben and it was so tasty and filling. Would definitely stop by if I’m ever in Nashville again
