Delicious!

We came here twice on a recent trip to Hamburg. First time was for breakfast - I had the tofu scramble with spinach and veg bacon, and my partner had pancakes & syrup with home fries. So delicious! Having grown up eating at American diners, it was great to have a good veggie alternative. The endless cup of coffee was a nice touch too, I don't know why more places don't offer that. We returned another day for afternoon coffee & cake. I had a lavender & vanilla cake that was truly delicious, my partner had yummy caramel cheesecake. Service on both occasions was friendly and helpful, really nice vibe to the place, I think I would hang there a lot if I lived in Hamburg!

Pros: Delcious food, Nice vibe, Endless cup of coffee

Fun breakfast place

I liked it. It wasn't amazing, but the service was solid, people were friendly, and the food was tasty. I had a really nice French Toast, and the vegan Mac and Cheese was solid. Not the best breakfast I've ever had but it hit the spot. Definitely worth visiting and fairly priced.

Pros: Fair pricing, Big portions

Amazing food!

This is one of my all-time favourites. Everything I the menu can be ordered as a vegan version (except the cakes) and everything tastes sooo delicious! Pretty expensive, but more than worth it.

Pros: many vegan options, sooooo tasty, oat milk

Cons: expensive

Diner style veggie cafe

A lovely place which is a perfect stop for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Vegetarian and vegan menu (most things can be made vegan) which ranges from pancakes, tofu scramble, macaroni 'cheese', sandwiches and some daily specials. Service can be a bit slow when busy as everything is prepared fresh. Free wifi.

Appalling Service

The first time me and my friends went to Mamalicious the service was incredibly slow and the chai latte I received was warm milk with a tea bag thrown in that didn’t give any flavor. In any case we didn’t complain about anything to the waiter. Later, when we went to pay we didn’t have cash and unfortunately they don’t take cards. Instead of being politely asked to leave a phone, or for someone to stay behind while the others went and withdrew money, we were basically told off as if we had some sort of intention of leaving without paying all along. At this point we decided the guy must have been having a bad day.

The last time I went there was with my parents. I took my father and my vegetarian Canadian Mother who were visiting as a treat because I had noticed some Canadian flags inside and it’s a 5-minute walk from my place. We sat outside and waited to be served. The same guy came out saw us and ignored us, then he started clearing tables. He could hear us speaking in English and he came to our table to clear it. I foolishly smiled at him and wanted to start making our order. He looked right at me and sarcastically asked me if I could speak English. When I said yes he pointed to a sign behind me (which I obviously hadn’t seen) and walked away in a huff. The sign asked people who sat outside to order inside. All three of us were pretty shocked at being spoken to so rudely for no reason and decided to leave. As we got up and left he ran out and shouted at us. Thankfully, I didn’t get what he said.

I’ve worked in hospitality for years but it doesn’t take an expert to realise that the service at this place is inexcusably terrible. Before coming on the happycow website I had already decided that I wouldn’t be going again, which is a shame because it’s incredibly close to my house and I’m a vegetarian. Additionally, I wasn’t going to write a bad review either, because I simply couldn’t be bothered. However, when I came on this page and read the responses from Mamalicous to the people who negatively reviewed the place I could not believe what I was reading. The responses are so appalling that they have been used as a source of entertainment for myself and my colleagues during breaks at work.

Pros: Good cheesecake.

Cons: Rude service , Slow service

Delicious!

We came here for a late breakfast on New Year's Day. The service was great and more importantly, our food was so delicious!
We had a French toast, blueberry pancakes, and tofu scramble with home fries...all vegan, all yummy!
Coffee and fresh squeezed OJ was great too.

Breakfast all day long

Here you can enjoy the most famous vegetarian and vegan breakfast even if you slept too long ... ;) they offer vegan scrambled eggs and vegan cheese for example but just to make sure .. It isn't just a good place for breakfast until 10pm, there're a lot of vegan lunch options as well. If you go for a junk day and want it to become a vegan one you should go there! Vegan mac n' cheese is also available. Mama would say it's delicious !

Amazing brunch

We went on sunday morning so obviously we had to wait til a table freed, but the waitresses were very nice and made sure everything was clean before we sat down.
The food was great, we shared a tofu scramble and pancakes and it was more than enough. Everything was really delicious, i wish we could have eaten more!
Also note that the amount of maple syrup you get with your pancakes is really generous, we were so happy about that :) thank you!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Generous servings, Nice staff

Cons: none

Tasty

Sad to see so many low reviews, my experience was great, tasty food with lots of vegan options which were clearly labelled and lots of the veggie options could be made vegan. I had the tofu scramble which was lush (I live breakfast food), it is a small place so when it's busy there can be a wait

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Busy

Great diner food!

Menus are in English and vegan stuff is clearly marked. Staff were very friendly and the food was great. Unfortunately they were out of the vegan mac n cheese and the vegan marshmallows during our visit.

Updated from previous review on 2016-10-13

Pros: plenty of vegan stuff, real maple syrup

Cons: acoustics in restaurants are bad; noisy, non-standard hours

A good place for breakfast

We had a very enjoyable, and filling, breakfast of vegan pancakes with fruit salad, maple syrup and vegan cream. I also had a coffee with coconut milk. Nice atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Now all it needs is to become fully vegan.

Pros: Good choice of vegan food, Friendly atmosphere, Choice of non cow milks

Cons: Not fully vegan

Total lecker!

Vegans avoid.

Not much vegan on offer, and from the many many cakes they have, only the cupcakes are vegan. Well whoopty*****doo! Still, I prefer to support "veg" places so we ordered a chai latte. Which turned out to be a hot small paper cup of 90 cent edeka soymilk with a 5c "chai" filter bag. Yeeyyy....

You know, dear hipsters, even mcdonalds makes a proper chai latte for the same price, and even murder king offers vegan burgers in deutschland. So, no deal, bad place, fake ass hipsters welcome, everybody else avoid. Too expensive and nothing good to write about.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive, Few vegan options, Crappy chai latte and no vegan cakes

Hello xkillerx
Are you sure you've been to the restaurant Mamalicious?
Let me just give you a quick note what we have that's vegan:
Pancakes, French toast, all of our 3 burgers, a lot of sandwiches and bagels. Tofu scramble, pulled "pork", chili, gyros, soup...
We are a restaurant. Not a vegan bakery.
So no sorry that we "just" has vegan cupcakes.
We are using organic soy milk, also you can have organic vanilla soy milk, organic oat milk or coconut milk for your chai latte. We're using yogi tea. It's a good and delicious brand.
And yes, please go to Burger King where you can get cheap and gross "burgers"
It's not even worth it to call it food.
And what do you mean with expensive?
All our food is under 10€
So I don't get this point. But well it seems that you're going to Burger King all the time.
So please don't come ever back to our restaurant.Hello xkillerx

Not so "Mama"licious

Patents with baby strollers are not very welcome, there is an forbidden sign for baby strollers saying that the place is too small (I bet they didn't even try). - Don't know if people in wheel chairs are welcome.

Every person is welcome! Also baby's and their parents! Just the strollers have to stay outside. We have locks and a high chair +3 month
So that your baby can sit and lie in it.
Sorry but crying for leaving your stroller outside is very childish

ok

This is quiet some special place! Food wasn't good but neither bad. Fast food, not for healthy vegans.
The weiter was very nice and the music was, again, special.
Price was fair.
Pet friendly.

What do you mean with not healthy for vegans? This is just a lie.
We're using fresh and good products. We're making everything ourself.
We have a lot of organic things. And it's not fast food. We're a normal restaurant, not an rubbish imbiss or McDonalds. Just for the next time, when you want to give a review, tell the truth and not lies like that. Thanks

perfect

Been there twice, lovely place.
The eggplant burger is awesome, the pancakes too. My non veg friend loved the eggs benedict (with faux bacon).
Staff is super friendly.
Best breakfast/lunch I had in hamburg.
