SO GOOD - Edit
Heard many a time that UVK is great. Finally went because it was close by (23rd St CE station). Oh my goodness! Absolutely fantastic. The vibes are immaculate, with excellent music, decor and staff. I think the best chick’n and waffles in the city. Delicious loaded broccoli. The orange juice based mocktail with cinnamon was also divine. And what a treat to have a non alcoholic espresso martini!

Phenomenal Vegan Food - Edit
One of my favorite places in the world. It’s always a pleasure to be able to select from an all-vegan menu, not having to worry about what may be in the food anyway, or asking for alterations to the dish.
Read moreUrban Vegan Kitchen has something for everyone, no matter the meal. Check out the “Chick’un and Waffles”!
If you know in advance that you want to go, consider making a reservation (currently through Resy).
For a proper dinner, check out their sister location, Blossom.
Pros: Great selection, Breakfasty/Brunch food!

Fun spot! - Edit
We’ve always had such a fun time visiting UVK! They have a DJ spinning some nights and we enjoy sitting at the bar. I do wish the Mac and cheese was a little bit more flavorful and creamy, but we’ve loved the chickn and waffles and massive lasagna!

Decent food but overpriced - Edit
The menu is not large and has a lot of seitan based options, so I chose the tempeh BLT. Coming from SF I'm used to high prices but $17 for a normal sized vegan BLT is pushing it ($21 with avo) and then what I thought was a $10 sundae was essentially a large scoop of ice cream (two normal scoops if you want to be generous). Pretty outrageous.

I've been to vegan restaurants all over the world and this one may be my new favorite! An nice selection and friendly staff. The chili cheese fries were so good! There lasagna and chicken and waffles did not disappoint. Only wished I'd had room to try the mac and cheese with shiitake bacon!

It was alright... - Edit
I think I may have oversold this place to myself before I even got here. I saw some food photos and it looked great and although the food wasn't bad it wasnt incredible either. Let's put it this way the price point doesn't support the quality or taste. Honestly, I almost couldn't believe I decided to pay those prices but again I oversold myself and then when I had to pay the bill I died a little on the inside. Both hubby and I had the Ckn& Waffles and Pancake bites. They looked so good when they got there but were a little too dough heavy for me. "Chicken" wasn't bad but a little dry and waffle with slightly doughy as well, wanna know what stole the show the fricken Kale on top of the waffles; oh lord baby Jesus I could have eaten a whole tub of that and been completely content. It was really good and the seasoning was deelish but again not $22 good, know what I mean? We went close to dinner and decided not to eat from that menu since the dish was on the brunch menu also.

Great brunch - Edit
We came here for brunch and got the hush puppies to start with, the breakfast sandwich for my partner, and the chick-un and waffle for myself. I'd highly recommend getting the hush puppies; they were delicious. Apparently every table had ordered them according to our waiter. I much preferred the waffle plate to the breakfast sandwich, which was just ok. Prices were quite high for the serving portions. Service was chill and friendly. If I lived in NYC, I'd come often and eat my way through the entire menu!

Amazing spot ! - Edit
I suggest you try everything in their menu, but to start try the chicken parmigiana sandwich with fries. That’s the first dish that got me hooked ! Also the P.O. boy shrimp sandwich is a amazing ! You get what you pay for, lots of food and great portion of ties with each burger. They also got meals and Sunday brunch. Mimosas and drinks also available which is great if you’re celebrating.

Incredible buffalo wings! - Edit
I came here for dinner the other night with my partner and we were blown away by the seitan buffalo wings - they were so good! I can’t recommend them enough. The other items on the menu we had (shrimp po’ boy and tacos) were also very good and the service was exceptional. Highly recommended!

Found through Happy Cow and the pictures looked good. However, the pics do not do the food justice... walking in you are welcomed to smiling staff, a relaxed attitude with impeccable service and a warm environment being enjoyed by a full room of very happy people.

By far the best buffalo wings I have ever had. (Including the real thing). I followed it with the Shrimp Po’boy and it was good. Although I found myself wishing I had more wings to add in there too!
I think a new benchmark has been set for me.
Pros: BEST BUFFALO WINGS EVER!, Awesome tunes , Cosy atmosphere
Cons: Pricey but worth it, A little dark but atmospheric, No non-alcoholic beer

Great foods and awesone atmosphere!! - Edit
First visit to Urban Vegan Kitchen on Carmine Street in the West Village last night and we'll definitely be going back. Very cool setting with great music and friendly, helpful staff. Was a bit crowded as it was a Saturday night but they never rushed us. There's seating downstairs for groups but upstairs seems more fun and has the buzz. The menu offers "Smalls" and "Bigs" so we shared a bunch of things. Started with Chili fries, Mexican Steet Corn and a Garlicky Broccoli. Loved everything. The Chili fries were the best choice. Broccoli was delicious as was the corn. Just felt the portion of the corn was too small for the price but was very tasty (I know that's picky but was the only negative). Corn was really tasty but not enough for the $7 price. Then we're shared Seitan & Gravy and a Shrimp Po'boy. Both were excellent but I think I enjoyed the Po'boy a little more. Would order both again. We'll definitely go back as the Mac n cheese and the Ch'kun and waffles looked delicious too.

Every dish was incredible - Edit
My two non-vegan friends were gracious enough to agree to go to an all vegan restaurant with me. We chose UVK. It was a Tuesday night. We sat at the bar and were served by the best bartender ever. Fresh drinks with fresh ingredients and the best attitude ever. DJ Pasquale was next to the bar spinning the best tunes I’ve heard in quite some time.

Every dish we ordered was phenomenal. One of the things I have missed most since going Vegan is buffalo wings. UVK “wings” were awesome. If I could get these regularly, I would never miss traditional wings again. The Chickn and Waffles were ridiculously good . The “shrimp” Po-boy was amazing. I was so stuffed, I wasn’t going to try the taco, since hey, I’ve had vegan tacos before. Holy cow, the taco was also ridiculous.
I’m considering relocating to across the street from this place. Go there now!
Pros: Best vegan comfort food I’ve had, Large amount of great options, Bartender/DJ/Vibe of the place
Cons: I don’t live closer to the place
